Job Summary:

The HR Generalist administers human resources policies, procedures, and programs for Pierce Engineers (PE). They oversee recruiting, compensation, employee benefits, compliance, training and development, performance management, and overall employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Life-Cycle

·         Maintains employee referral program

·         Registers for and facilitates in-person attendance at career fairs twice annually

·         Responsible for additional external candidate sourcing and maintenance of PE’s applicant tracking system

·         Coordinates and facilitates interviews and employment offers with candidates and hiring manager(s)

·         Responsible for onboarding program, including new hire orientation and paperwork

·         Conducts 30/60/90-day check-ins with new hires, stay interviews with current staff, and exit interviews with departing staff

Compensation

·         Monitors current wage structure and trends

·         Gathers and analyzes industry compensation data to establish pay structures

·         Participates in annual industry compensation surveys several times throughout the year

Benefits

·         Manages overall benefit administration, including mid-year check-ins with brokers to discuss pre-renewal efforts and strategies

·         Manages and monitors online benefit enrollment portal for new hires and during open enrollment

·         Responsible for ensuring accuracy of enrollments in benefit carriers based on employee elections

·         Verifies and rectifies, as needed, all billing invoices as benefit election changes occur throughout the year

·         Gathers and analyzes industry benefit trends to benchmark the firm against

Compliance

·         Serves as Affirmative Action Plan administrator and maintains plan compliance

·         Responsible for employment law compliance across multiple states, including new state registrations

·         Manages the PE Handbook through updates on a minimum annual basis and researches and develops new policies as needed

Talent Management

·         Maintains and updates PE’s career ladder, growth framework and service recognition program

·         Oversees completion of annual performance evaluations

·         Assists management in the development, delivery and administration of performance improvement measures, including disciplinary relations, as needed

Payroll

·         Serves as backup support for payroll processing

Education and Experience:

·         Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred

·         Minimum of 4 years of work experience in Human Resources required

·         PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred, but not required

·         General knowledge or employment laws and practices required

·         Experience in the administration of employee benefits and compensation packages required
